Healing through Nature

While reading Nature, Technology & Modern Life by Carl Jung I found myself reflecting and contemplating more than I typically do after reading a book. I wanted to take this opportunity to share some of the revelations and quotes that came from reading it.

“How was I to explain to him that I had simply listened to something within myself?”

Have you ever had those feelings of knowing? There isn’t a logical reason you should know and yet you just know? This knowing is called your intuition; your innate knowing. It was never taught to you, you came to the earth with an understanding already within you.

“There is a star. You must go in quest for yourself, and you will find yourself again only in the simple and forgotten things. Why not go into the forest for a time, literally? Sometimes a tree tells you more than can be read in books?

I’ve learned more in the past two years by being in nature than I’ve learned in all other times of my life. Time in nature provides you time to reflect, contemplate, analyze and prioritize. We can get wrapped up in this idea that we need to be someone else or that someone else’s life is more interesting than ours. Each one of us are incredibly diverse, intricate and mysterious human beings that came here to earth with a direction, a task that our soul wants to accomplish. We must put in the work and intention and there is no better place to explore who you are than in nature.

“Nature is an incomparable guide if you know how to follow her. She is like a needle of the compass pointing to the North[.]”

Nature is always reflecting to us what we need to see, hear, feel, smell and touch in order for us to come ever-closer to who we are at our core. We are codependent. Nature give us our breath, our life force. Tuning into the forest allows you to access the wisdom of the universe.
