Cycles of Life

I never would have guessed 2020 to be what it has been… A year ago grandpa passed and my 3 year caregiving journey with him as he went through debilitating dementia came to an end.

Today as I stood next to his grave, one year after he passed with my belly bump, it felt surreal. How life can change and how life has in one year. Now I am counting down the days until my baby will be born.

Yes I miss grandpa. For both of our sakes, I would not want him back and he wouldn’t want to be here in the condition he was… but because of him, I will always have more patience, compassion, empathy and love for all people. You never know what someone has gone through or is currently going through.
